NOTICE OF APPROVAL HEARINGS BY COMMITTEES FOR NOMINEES TO THE POSITIONS OF CHIEF OFFICERS IN THE COUNTY GOVERNMENT OF BUNGOMA
In the matter of the approval by the County Assembly of Bungoma of persons nominated to be appointed as Chief Officers in the County Government of Bungoma. Pursuant to section 45 (1) (b) of the County Governments Act, 2012 on the appointment of County Chief Officers, the nominees listed below for appointment as Chief Officers in the County Government of Bungoma are invited to appear before the under listed County Assembly Committees for approval hearing.
Pursuant to Section 7(5) of Public Appointments (County Assemblies Approval) Act, No. 5 of 2017 and Standing Order 56(3), the general public is hereby notified that the Committees shall conduct the approval hearing of the persons nominated for appointment as County Chief Officers in the County Assembly precincts on Monday 1st July, 2024 as per the following schedule:
The nominees are required to collect vetting questionnaires from the Office of the Clerk of the County Assembly between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. from Monday 24th June, 2024 and return them with copies of the following documents on or before Thursday 27th June, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.;
1. National Identification Card or passport
2. Curriculum Vitae and relevant academic and professional certificates
3. Letters/ certificates of clearance/ compliance from the following bodies:
a) Kenya revenue Authority (KRA)
b) Criminal Investigation Department(CID)
c) Higher Education Loans Board(HELB)
d) Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission(EACC)
e) Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
The nominees are advised to bring the ORIGINALS of the above-mentioned documents on the day of appearing for vetting.
Submission of Memoranda
Further, Pursuant to the provisions of Section 7(10) of the Public Appointments (County Assemblies Approval) Act, No. 5 of 2017, the above listed Committees of the County Assembly invite members of the public to submit any information or comments on the suitability or otherwise of the candidates by written statement on oath (affidavit) with supporting evidence contesting the suitability of the nominees for appointment to the positions.
The written memoranda may be forwarded to the Clerk of the County Assembly of Bungoma, P.O Box 1886-50200, BUNGOMA; hand – delivered to the Office of the Clerk, Bungoma or emailed to info@bungomaassembly.go.ke; to be received on or before Thursday 27th June, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.
